These grapes come from the original vineyard planted in 1916 by Don Cesare Secundino Pisano in the Progreso Coastal Region. We use perfectly mature berries that have been carefully hand picked and selected from very old plots. The sun, land, vines and oak, together with our Family’s hands, combine to make these unique wines, cared for passionately as only true craftsmen can. Merlot is a variety of unknown origin, cultivated in Bordeaux since two centuries ago. Its name comes from the word Merle (blackbird), a bird who searches for berries when they are ripe (Merlot, in patois: small Merle). A proportion of Tannat gives structure and a very particular aroma to the blend. This intense and fleshy red is the perfect blend from Uruguay. Effusively fruity, with ripe and juicy plum, black cherry and wild berry from the Merlot, with an exotic Tannat edge to the currant and blackberry, turning complex on the supple finish with integrated and mild tannins.
